The Lichtburg Filmpalast
This cinema, in Oberhausen's city centre close to the railway station, is one of the few really classical cinemas in the region.
It has been modernised using glass as an architectural feature of the building creating an extraordinary atmosphere for "film buffs". Together with the many pubs, bistros and cafes on the Elsässerstr, the Lichtburg is one of the in-places to meet in Oberhausen's old centre. However, the cinema doesn't only show the latest commercial films, it also hosts the annual International Short Film Festival.
