Theater Oberhausen
As of the 2008/09 season, Peter Carp will be the theatre manager at the Theater Oberhausen. He and his team see the theatre as being a magical place both for the audiences as well as for the performers. The Theater Oberhausen is focusing on three key aspects: firstly, new forms of musical theatre are being shown which are staged by international directors. A second area of focus are the theatre’s out-of-house projects which are still taking place, and the third focal point comes in the form of the children’s and youth theatres: numerous world and German premieres by young writers are waiting to be discovered throughout the new season. But the most important role is played by the Oberhausen theatre’s actors and actresses themselves, because together they represent the heart and soul of the theatre. The public can choose between the main Großes Haus auditorium with its 422 seats, the Malersaal (formerly the scenery workshop) with 99 seats, or the b.a.r. with its variable seating arrangements.
