Magnificent views
On the approximately three-hour walking tour, you will climb approximately 108 meters up the Haniel Halde with the tour guide. During the climb, you will immerse yourself in the history of hard coal mining.
At 15 stations you will learn interesting facts about a wide range of mining topics. This includes working conditions underground, the construction of a mine and water management - in other words, the consequences of mining. You will learn a lot about how mining shaped people's language and their living conditions.
Once you reach the summit, you will experience a magnificent panoramic view of the Ruhr area and a beautiful view of Prosper Haniel, the last mine in the Ruhr area, which has actually been history in Germany since the end of 2018.
An ideal place to toast with a schnapps at the summit and sing the Steigerlied together. After enough time for taking photos, you will descend together.
Look forward to a great tour of the heritage of the Ruhr area.
Good luck!
