Energy Supply Oberhausen AG (evo)
For over 120 years, evo has been supplying Oberhausen and the people living here with electricity, gas and heat. And it has done so safely, sustainably and always innovatively. As early as 1901, Oberhausen's main train station was able to be electrically lit thanks to the electricity generated in the "Staedtisches Electricitaetswerk".
Today, the building is a contemporary witness to Oberhausen's rich industrial history. The historic brick facade has been preserved true to the original, as has one of the historic turbines. But behind the walls today is the combined heat and power plant I. Every year, evo generates electricity for over 9.000 and heat for around 13.000 households in the ultra-modern plants.
