Niederrhein Stadium
The Niederrhein Stadium was built in 1926 and is located on the so-called “Emscher Island” between Rhein-Herne-Kanal and Emscher, directly on the A42 motorway. The stadium has space for around 17.000 spectators and has 4.000 covered seats and 3100 covered standing places. It has always been the home ground of the SC Rot-Weiß Oberhausen as the largest and most famous football club in the city. During this time, spectators have experienced countless unforgettable games and players. After all, the team has already produced the top scorer in the 1971st Bundesliga in 1, Lothar Kobluhn - even ahead of football legend Gerd Müller from FC Bayern Munich.
