Tourist Information receives DTV certificate

The tourist information office at the main train station has once again been awarded the "i-Mark" certificate for service competence. In the middle of the 2024 Christmas season, an inspector commissioned by the German Tourism Association (DTV) unannouncedly inspected the range and service quality of the information center operated by the Oberhausener Wirtschafts- und Tourismusförderung GmbH (OWT) as a supposed guest. The certificate has now been presented. The basis of the test was a catalogue of criteria based on nationwide uniform specifications of the DTV. The "i-Mark" quality seal is only awarded if the infrastructure, the equipment of the premises, the tourist offer and of course the personal advisory service meet high standards.

Digital information media that are available to visitors before they start their trip or directly on site are also included in the evaluation. With the website redesigned last year www.oberhausen-tourismus.de, info screens and a so-called progressive web app (PWA) allowed the Oberhausen tourism industry to score additional points. An international training course on the topic of "sustainability" that employees of the OWT information center had previously completed was also honored. The DTV certificate is now valid for three years before it has to be renewed.
