Bunker Museum / Bürgerzentrum Alte Heid

The Oberhausen Bunker Museum was opened in 2001 in the Knappenviertel in Alt-Oberhausen. The basement of the high-rise bunker from the Second World War contains approximately 300 square meters of exhibition space, which has been left as it was found. The Bunker Museum, with its historical exhibitions and artistic installations, is particularly dedicated to the history of air warfare and bunker construction, as the Ruhr area was a major target of the Allied bomber squadrons at the time because of its armaments industry. Admission is free. The Bunker Museum is run by the city of Oberhausen. It cooperates with the Memorial Hall in the Schloss Oberhausen, Konrad-Adenauer-Allee 46, 46049 Oberhausen.
