SEA LIFE Oberhausen
Immerse yourself in the fascinating underwater world and embark on a journey from the sources of the Rhine to the depths of the Pacific Ocean. With over 5.000 sea creatures in more than 50 specially designed tanks and an exhibition area of around 4.000 square meters, Oberhausen is home to Germany's largest SEA LIFE aquarium. Here, visitors of all ages can walk through a ten-meter-long acrylic glass tunnel and observe the majestic round-head guitarfish "Rhina", various shark species and the large green sea turtle "Twiggy" up close. The 1,5 million liter ocean tank delights many visitors from near and far.
But there is much more to discover: Germany's largest shark breeding facility, with its 148 square meter shallow water pool, offers ideal conditions for small blacktip reef sharks and various rays to grow up. Here, visitors have the unique opportunity to experience these fascinating underwater inhabitants up close as they grow.
In the unique underwater dome, explorers of all ages can also get a 360-degree view of the youngest offspring and can get particularly close to them - without getting wet. Alternatively, you can take a 15-minute tour on the glass-bottom boat over the tropical reef. Our tip for families: Combine your visit to SEA LIFE with the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre right next door.
