Theater Oberhausen is the city theater in the heart of Oberhausen. As a theater of contemporary relevance, both political and emotional, it tells compelling stories for our time with conviction, passion, and a love of performing. A focus is placed on new drama, including world and German premieres. The Open House program invites everyone to participate in performances or to use the theater as a place for networking. With its Urban Arts program, Theater Oberhausen offers, for the first time at a German city theater, a dedicated space for experimental, urban dance. As a cultural center of the city, Theater Oberhausen is a warm and welcoming venue for Oberhausen and the entire region. The motto of the current season, under the artistic direction of Dr. Kathrin Mädler, is "NO KINGS."
